Father's Day

okay.. er, i dont know what happened earlier on but i came in just as they started on the stress balls. the kids had ALOT of fun 'preparing' the stress balls for their fathers and other dad's as well! later on then we had birthday celebration for those who's birthdays are in the month of junee. aunty nancy made a really pretty ambulance cake which was er, combined? with cupcakes topped with sugar paste models of cars, traffic light, lorries and loads of other stuff and they tasted really nice :P

after their refreshments they practiced the song that they were singing :D
the song was written by aunty swee see for her father a few years ago. and it goes like this,

Piggy-backs, baseball bats
Bicycle for two
That’s my daddy and me (x2)

A tear in his eye
A smile on his face
When I said “I love you”
That’s my daddy and me (x2)

Papers and books
Pencils and pens
Things made simple and clear
That’s my daddy and me (x2)

Holding hands
Mummy and him
On a Sunday afternoon
That’s my daddy for me (x2)

Thank you Father in Heaven
For my daddy here
Oh how I love him so
Oh how I love him so
Yes, how I love him so.

after practising, they had worship, had a game * i think* and then got ready to perform for the fathers! after waiting outside for awhile, they finally got in and gave their 'presents' to every dad in the sanctuary. after performing and giving another present to all the fathers, the kids went back to JC and had their spin & win.

and um, start viewing the pictures from the bottom, cause they re sorta messed up :D

JC Lepak Camp of the year. ;)

On the 5th to 6th of June, the Junior Church team of CLGC went for a Lepak Camp together.... to relax and to fellowship together. This Lepak Camp was held in Nube Training Campsite at Port Dickson. Thus, here is what happened during those two fun days:

DAY ONE!
Most people arrived at Nube very early; Uncle Peter and family & Uncle Ian Tan and family were very early, so when the rest of us (Uncle See Lian, Sam, Victoria, Aunty Hilda, Johanna, Catherine, Joshua Khoo, Justin, Keane and myself) arrived we all met up with them at the beach.

Sam then appointed two group leaders, Justin and Keane. They then each picked a member, then that member they picked would pick another person. So it went on until everyone was distributed to a group. Then the groups went separate ways down the beach to form a group name and group cheer. Haha! in the end, Justin's group was H2O and Keane's was La La. Do not ask me why or how the names were chosen!! *laughs*

We then played the game of 'Kuku' with some 'bombing' thing and 'Zip Zap'. Lol I dont know what to call that game, but it was fun. The ones who made mistakes two times and above had to write a word with their butts [its like Mississippi] but I forgot what word it was, sorry.

Then we all did our group cheers and unpacked and went for lunch.

^ This is H20 doing their cheer

And LaLa doing theirs.

And the picture above is them writing the word using their butts!

And then in the afternoon everyone returned to the beach for an exciting time of games! Firstly we played a IQ test/Scavenger Hunt game. Each team had to allocate people to do the IQ test and the rest would go on the scavenger hunt. In the end Aunty Hilda and myself stayed to do the test for H2O, and Joshua Khoo did the test for LaLa.

This is Joshua Khoo, IQ Genius!

Aunty Hilda and I cracking our brains over the IQ test.

Uncle Peter and Victoria from Team LaLa trying to find the items needed.

The two teams working hard... the one on the right is H2O checking the list of items. :)

After this game, we had the most awesome yet violent game of Captain Ball!! Uncle Peter was really vicious. (haha sorry Uncle Peter!) and everyone really fought, but in the end LaLa was victorious and won 8-2.

This is the game of Captain Ball underway!

Uncle Peter fighting with Catherine for the ball.

Aunty Jenny working hard for team H2O.

Everyone wanting to catch the ball somehow!

Once the game ended, everyone decided to have fun in the sea... and Victoria, Aunty Jenny and I think Aunty Nancy pulled Aunty Hilda into the sea (because she was the only one who didn't get wet since she didn't play Captain Ball). And then she got so wet! :) haha everyone had fun playing in the sea.
Aunty Hilda getting all wet!! xD

Team JC playing in the sea. :)

It was late into the afternoon, and most of us decided that we wanted to snack and have our tea break. So we all gathered and had tea in the cafeteria. (the food there really is not bad).
Everyone snacking in the cafeteria during tea-time.

A very nice picture of Faith. :)

Uncle See Lian.

Justin clowning around with his junk food!

Sierra and Naomi. :)

And then of course some people went to have a nap, others went to play football outside (Aunty Hilda was one of them!) and then we had dinner..... and then later that night we gathered outside the cafeteria area and I got surprised with a birthday cake! It was really nice to be surprised to celebrate my birthday since its my first surprise! hahaha. Then we also used to cake to celebrate Sam and Victoria's wedding anniversary, Joshua Khoo's birthday and Justin's birthday.

Sam and Justin cutting the cake.

OH!! yes after we celebrated a mock wedding of Sam and Victoria, we had a question-answer session for the couple to see how well they knew each other! :)

Cutting the cake: Sarah (me), Victoria, Sam, Joshua.

Sam putting the ring on Victoria's finger during the "wedding ceremony". :)

Haha! Uncle Peter is the pastor (I think!), Justin and Joshua are the best men. Lol!!

Uncle See Lian acting as the dad, Victoria in her wedding gown (haha look at the veil and bouquet) and Naomi and Faith as the flower girls/bridesmaids?!? haha.

Sam - the groom, eagerly awaiting his bride. Haha!

A close-up snapshot of the beautifully made Sunflower-themed cake by Aunty Nancy!

Celebrating my birthday...

Everyone gathered around the area outside the cafeteria.

And then, after all the celebrations, Sam lead us in a game of charades between the two teams that was honestly the most fun game ever!
Even Faith tried out in charades; she was so cute!!

Justin trying to get his point across.

Aunty Jenny - HAHAHA! Brushing teeth??? Toothpaste???

Johanna - huh?? curving up?? roof? jumping over the fence? ;)

Samuel Tan junior - hmmm something about being quiet?

Victoria absolutely giving her all!

By the end of the night, this is what's left of the cake. :)

OHHHH and at night, we went to the beach to catch crabs, fish, prawns, etc.... and it was pretty fun, I must say! the pictures of these are in my facebook :)
DAY TWO!!!
Most of us woke up early (for the girls) because it was insanely freezing in the dorms!!!! First thing in the morning, we had devotion from the books 'Time with Abba'. And I would say it was a nice time of prayer and fellowship, for we prayed for each other in groups and all. After breakfast, we headed back to the beach, where we competed to build the best MODERN TOILET!

Team LaLa's toilet almost completed.

Faith, Aunty Jenny, Sarah

Keane and Victoria working hard to construct their toilet.

As Team H2O's spokesperson, I'm presenting the new iH20!! :)

Joshua Khoo as Team LaLa's presenter, explaining about the toilet.

presenting.... TEAM LALA!!!!

and TEAM H20!!!!!!!
So after the fun and games, most of us returned to the rooms to wash up and pack up... *so sad* while the rest returned later and splashed themselves with the cooling water. :)
Keane eagerly awaiting H2O. =)

Being splashed by water!!!!

and so before we left the place, Sam announced that Team H2O won, by 200 points!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yay! and so we left the PD with many memories of a great JC Lepak Camp. :)

Family Sunday! (:

This week for Junior Church was Family Sunday, and everyone had loads of fun! :D
It started of with a game, lead by kor kor sam. The congregation was split into three teams.

* Team Eddy
* Team Eng
* Team Calvin

The objective of the game was to guess the weight and whichever team that estimated the best, won.

Kor Kor Sam measuring the weight

the eng team cheering!

So at the end of the game, team eng won :) *whooo hoo :P*

After the games, our very own Justin read from the book of Mark. It was his first time, and he was pretty nervous but did very well for his first try.

Later on, Colin led us in a time of worship. He also taught the kids and adults a 'new' song, with actions. Keane was also assisting in playing guitar!

Colin teaching everyone the dance moves

After worship, the kids had their break then went back in. Uncle See Lian then called out those who had been baptised to receive their certificates.

kor kor sam then came out and did ''time with abba'' then Christine came to share abit about going to Cambodia. Uncle See Lian then came out and shared about Jesus growing in many ways. e.g;physically and spiritually. then there was a quiz for the kids, and if you guess it right, you get a prize! everyone got a lollipop to suck on while listening to uncle See Lian 'preach'!

uh, i think my blogging is er, un-interesting? so ill just leave the pictures to do the talking :D

Mothers' Day 2009!

Every single year, Mother's Day is celebrated. And without fail, every year's celebration turns out to be a true fun-filled day for the mothers.... and also the kids! This year, the kids in JC prepared handmade 'decorations' for their moms... made of salt-dough, prepared by Aunty Nancy. Photos are taken by Sam. :)

and so, here are some examples of the extremely cute and lovely 'miniatures' (sorry, I'm not sure what you call it!) or 'gifts' given to the mothers from the children!

Afterward, the children joined in the main congregation and five of the fathers (I have no idea what band they were calling themselves, given the huge and weird wigs!) sang 'You Make Me Feel Brand New' to the mothers.
there are more pictures, but suddenly the blogger isnt working properly anymore! oh well. =D enjoy the pics and Happy Mothers' Day to all the mothers once again!

911- To The Rescue

This slideshow gives a snapshot on what we experience in 911 camp...

As for the church as a whole, we have seen different groups from uncles/aunty, youth, young working adults putting down their time, finance & talents to serve the Lord...

As for individuals, i believe that each one of us is challenged by the Lord, in the area of our call & purpose... and also pouring into lifes, knowing that it is for generations to generations... the love and life that we share with them...

As for the children... 19 lifes, came to know the Lord for the 1st time and many more rededications of life... let's continue to disciple & pray for these children as issues in life is very real for them...

There are so many testimonies of children sharing with other children, team members challenged to come out of their 'shell' and be the best who God has made them....

Will keep that for those ppl to share their lifes with you....

As for now... the snapshots...

Photos are on my facebook... 900 photos in total from various photographers... mainly Kendrick! Kudos to a young and budding photographer! :)

Andrea, Alyssa, Dorothy & Ebony, did a farewell dance (for Andrea/Alyssa) who would be joining their dad in Australia, they danced to the tune of Happy Day

Then we had our worship lead by Joshua with Ah lalala & undigified, where the children just let loose and worship the Lord... and brought a great depth in worhsip where we were praying for children that are abused in this nations...

We then prayed for Andrea/Alyssa & Cat.... and emotional time for us, as they are a part of this great family

video

But what was great is to see even children serving in worship... Keane was playing the lead guitar! (10 years old)

We share about the work God is doing in 911 camp & also testimonies of His goodness in all of our lifes and as for the church... Knowing our destiny & call and moreso, through our lives loving Him and the ppl around us...

Did Charlie & Tango's cheer and also had a slideshow of the camp....

See Lian shared about rebuilding the walls from Nehemiah and encourage us to look at the walls in our lifes & in the church and let's build His kingdom and serve our purpose in our generation....

The walkers/joggers had a task of building the walls... :)

A typical JC Sunday

Lei Wah, left the kids in stitches as she acted & thought about John the baptist and how he prepared the way for Christ. In saying so, how do we prepare our hearts & the ppl around us so that Christ can come into their lifes...

Farewell & Poem for Ps Raj & Family

Children worshiping with the adults... 'You are the One'

Children worshiping with the adults... 'You are the One'

Poem recited by the gang

Poem recited by the gang

Our love in words & drawing

This is taken from Ebony with permission :)

Ebony, Alyssa, Andrea & Keane recited a poem for Ps Raj...

First I'll start with Pastor Raj,
He's cool, fun and never has a grudge,
Loves M.U., oh yes, he does,
Never does his cheering at his worst.

Next is Aunty Margaret, creative and smart,
I'm very sure, when she goes shopping, pushes her two kids in the shopping cart.
Did the dance for Christmas last year,
None of her moves was one bit queer.

Then comes Ayesha, so dainty and sweet,
Loves her lil' brother, necklaces and beads.
Wears pretty frocks and fantastic jeans,
Sure she would share her multi-colored jelly beans.

Finally Kyren, the last but not least,
Loves giraffes and not bees,
Amusing and adorable,
I think I can imagine Kyren's face if he ate a pickle.

We'll miss 'em four, when they go away,
God bless them all, I pray.

It has been years with Ming Hong

Was going through my digital albums aka digital shoebox and guess what i found a picture with me and Hong Hong...

This photo was taken on the 30-03-2003... what a date...

But my main thing is saying that seeing him grow and being the boy that is responsible, polite and thinking of the others rather than for himself and more so, knowing Jesus as his Lord...

It is all worth the time and effort that we spend, even if a soul is saved and disciple...

Continue to bless and give into lifes of these children... for these years that is where their character would be built and more so, these are the years that they would remember our love & kindness that if one day, they go weary, they would look back at milestones in their life, seeing Christ in us, loving and encouraging them...

Mother's Day

We had a bash during Mother's day... we had a cookie decoration session with all the children and they really love it... you can see all the creativity oozing out of them... even to a point of chomping the cookie into a different shape!

After the cookie deco session we had a wonderful time praising the Lord... and 1st time singing Undignified... which nearly brought the roof down...

A thousand apologies to Ps Yong who is next door having their Chinese service and always have to bear with our 'noise'...

After a short teaching using 'freeze drama' we headed to the main sanctuary to give out the cookies to the mom... a another wonderful time... we no orchestrated program but spontaneously children came out to pray and also Adora sang a song... 'Mummy' to a nursery rhyme tune...

Had lots of fun! To all mother... we honour you on this day.... Proverbs 31-10-31

Happy Chinese New Year!

transcendence, originally uploaded by wildpianist.

Hahaha... it is a little late, but I will still wish a Happy Chinese New Year to all...

It is indeed a journey starting the end of 2007 where we see ourselves moving into a structure to bring corporate worship among the children and to see them coming together. We journeyed and we moved into a place where we are partly children church and partly sunday school type of style.

We see the benefit of both... I would say, it is the grace of God on where we are journeying and I would say a test to our faith & heart...

It has been lots of hardwork and time in putting and setting up the environment for children to enjoy themselves while learning truth and living for Jesus...

Anyway, knowing that unless the Lord builds His house, we all labour in vain. Lord keep our hearts in place so that our hands and mind reflect You....

I believe parents and the church as a whole is very caring, supportive and standing by us... though might not be shown in a physical sense...

Well, we know there is lots of foundations and efforts to be put in but I believe in what we sow, it is what we reap and not easily giving up but pressing torwards the upward prize that He has set for us.

Continue to pray for us and standy by us as a family... to this exciting year of 2008....

Missions Sunday: Bestari Homes

The Junior Church today went out to bless the homes in Bestari. It was indeed a good time with the children to visit families there. The Bestari kids that join us for our tuition & also Sunday church were our tour guides :) Our kids were so eager to knock on the doors and giving out gifts...

Most of the families are so welcoming and also the children prayed for the families... At the end, we gathered at the bottom of the apartments and gave a hand to the Lord and all together we shouted at the top of our voices "Merry Christmas, Bestari!"

I believe that this is our first step to many other... The Great Comission and sharing our love for Christ...

New Socks For New Shoes 22-24 Nov

This years camp and a changing point for us as a church seeing the children from different walks of life coming together. There were about 90 children with about 60 camp staff...

Ps Sam & Eve and team came and assisted us through the camp and taught as much, moreso about principles and also the heart of running camps.

The children enjoyed themselves very much and let their lungs out all the time, shouting out their cheers and enjoying the games... I believe every night they went home, all would just knock out on their beds... I did that :)

The ministry time was very personal as every leader would have group time, where the gospel is shared and also given the children opportunity to accept Christ!

All the non-christian children except 1 who was not present, accepted Christ... Again the angels and heaven rejoices for these souls!

Indeed God is building His church and we coming to be apart of His great work...

Well, photos speaks louder than words... enjoy viewing :)
